So it works for Dave, and might work for you…. But Keto is a very extreme diet, so I would not go down that route without great care. Do we yet know any long term issues. I cannot see that it is a natural diet , well unless you are Inuit, and apparently they have a relatively poor life expectancy. Also, to truly become ketogenic is very difficult from what I see. It is a diet that should include a very high proportion of vegetables, so going to be good for you from that point. I would suggest for most, eating a lot of vegetables, half raw half cooked, fruit, whole grains, pulses and nuts may work equally well for you. Definitely no sugar, which is the most likely cause of any weight loss/ mental issues. If you wish to eat flesh, oily fish (not farmed) first choice, and then free range grass fed meat. (But be aware that the world cannot produce enough healthy meat to everyone)

Wow, what a fantastic unbiased, educated investigation of AG1. I took it for about a year but stopped due to cost and suddenly developing a dislike for the taste, in fact I still have one pack left and have been forcing myself to take it rather than waste it. I'm going to post a link to this video on every channel I follow that promotes it because people really need to hear your unbiased video and then decide if they want to continue supporting the hype. I get your point. If only people would eat more eggs and meat. I do disagree that eating healthy is not difficult, specifically for vegetarians and more so vegans. A couple of years ago I met a colonoscopy specialist and asked him, if he could give one advice to everyone, what would it be. The by far dominant client group was vegtarians and vegans including children. He got agitated and said that our body is not made to live on plants alone, and as adults we can do what we like to our own body, but never ever put children growing up on a plant only diet. It is extremely difficult to ensure correct nutrition.

I don't think AG1 is marketed towards anyone outside of very technologically developed parts of the world. You talking about nutrient deficiencies in the _worldwide_ population doesn't strike me as entirely fair. Supplements can be designed based on assumptions of dietary intakes. You're average Joe Rogan listener probably gets plenty of iron from meats. 🤷‍♂️

Had a friend use it temporarily - stopped because it caused a lot of bloating and gastro issues. Would love to hear your view on LMNT, another popular product in the carnivore and ketovore world. Have a great day.

About "psychological benefit" of bad gear (when you know it's bad), I'd really be interested in a deeper discussion on the line between fooling oneself into a false sense of safety by placing something where you know it'd be useless and having real beneftis from it. I'm interested to know the thought process here: wouldn't it be better to just NOT place the gear, if you know it's useless and build up the mental strength to go without it - in terms of safety, all things considered? Or is the small chance of it holding up your fall even a little bit worth enough objectively, as a means of risk mitigation, that you'd rather always have it? Thanks!

Great video, Dave! Thanks for the in-depth science-based explanation here! One thing I haven't heard you talk about (maybe I've missed it?) is iodine. My endocrinologist recommended 100micrograms/d to me after some bloodwork. Do you think I could supplement this indefinitely, or should I get my blood re-testet after some period of taking it? Seems to me there's very little iodine in produce here in Germany, so I'm not getting it through my (keto) diet much. Same with vitamine D, which I take 3500units/d of. Thanks!
